Am I the only Liberal in america who thinks that illegal immigration needs to be stopped?

I cant figure this issue out,I cant even figure out who is on what side of the argument.I am opposed to ANY illegal immigration.I support the fence idea.There are at least 2 reasons this makes sense to me.1. it is a matter of national security,in its current form,the border allows people to get across fairly easily,and who is to say that al-quieda hasnt used the border gaps to get its operatives into our country?
2.The fact that these people will come here and work for much less than minimum wage is hurting our workers,this I believe is a large reason that our wages havent kept pace with inflation.
There are more minor issues I have with it,which I wont go into now.The thing is,it appears that no one from either party is willing to address these issues,and I cant figure it out,unless they are all owned by big business and as such must not rock the boat.So my question is...where do you as a liberal stand on this issue?

If jobs like being a janitor and picking fruit paid a decent wage,I would do it,the problem is as long as there are people willing to do it for a buck or 2 an hour these jobs will never pay that.I dont feel any job is beneath me,I do however feel I cant survive on 200 bucks a month.The argument that americans wont do it is bs.remember when McCain offered to pay us 100 bucks an hour to pick lettuce?How many people(americans) offered to do it?tons.
I agree that those who hire illegals are the biggest part of the problem,but the illegals will still come,not in the numbers we see now,but they will still come here...and that is a national security issue.
someone said I might be conservative...lol...I am about 90% liberal.however I do agree with conservatives on a few issues,this would be one...and the other would be the death penalty.Other than that I am a liberal.

in short, i totally agree with you. I also believe that Companies that are based in america but outsource to places like Puerto Rico, which is american owned but not a taxed country, should be Taxed to the point where it would make them consider building factories/manufacturing plants/etc. here in america.

The reason illegal immigrants come here is because there are jobs. If there were no jobs, then they wouldn't show up. period. If you want to stop illegal immigration then stop the americans hiring them.

And why are there jobs? Americans won't work in the fields, they won't clean bathrooms, they won't do anything that is "beneath" them. Put an ad in the paper and try to hire someone to do low skilled labor, and see who responds. good luck

Hillary, Obama and McCain all have abysmal track records on illegal immigration but McCain at least seems to be coming around.

Probably, since Hilary just said she would not crack down on Sanctuary city's. Why would she? With the opposition for legal ID's at the polls why would she want to impose on one of her main voter bases.

Anyway, it is refreshing to see a person that stands on issues and not on party lines. Good for you!!!!
