How do I send cash from Spain to my US bank account?

I have a permanent address and bank account in the US. Currently I am staying in Spain and would link to send some of my euros to the US bank account. Is there a service available for this?

I tried Western Union customer service and neither they nor any of the listed agents in Spain are able to help. The CS rep. just told me to contact an agent in Spain and the businesses in Spain I talked to said WU is only for person to person transactions.

Thanks to the people who answered so far, but I do not have a bank account in Spain. I take my paycheck to my boss' bank and just cash it.

I believe you can simply do a wire transfer from your bank in Spain to the bank in the USA. However the service fee your bank in Spain will charge I do not know.

You will need to know the routing number of your bank in the USA.

Your bank in Spain should know how to handle this, but if they are being that unhelpful, contact your US bank and ask them.

When I worked in banking (US), at three different banks, there was always a foreign currency department, plus the wire transfer department. Between the two departments, we were able to send and receive funds via wire transfer from many different countries.

Someone at each bank has to know the answer to this question, but if not, the only thing I can think of to do would be to mail a check or money order to your US bank. They will hold it until it clears, exchange it for US currency, and then place the funds in your account.

***You should still be able to wire the money. You will need your US bank's 9 digit routing and transit number, account number, address, phone number and contact person info. Someone at the bank in Spain still must know how to do this, it's just that it will probably cost more if you are not an account holder with them. If not, you can still mail it to your US bank, with a deposit slip and a letter explaining for them to please deposit it and advising that you understand there will be a waiting period before it is exchanged into US dollars and available in your account.
