(filing lawsuit) how do I contact the agent for service for a corporation when the address could not be found?

I know who the person im suiing is, but the problem is that I called the Better Business bureau, and they could NOT find any information about the company Im suiing. For my "service type" options, if the court trys to contact the agent for service for the company through the mail, how do they contact the company if the address I have, could not be found by the BBB? I have 1 phone number for the owner, and he rarley answers the phone. Im almost done filing my lawsuit please any advice would be great ( I think the company may be a scam)

A corporation must identify an agent for service of process in any state where it is admitted to do business. Check with the Secretary of State where the corporation is located. They should be able to provide you with that information. You may even be able to get that info from the Secretary of State's website.

The state that you live in will have all the corporations that are register in your state as public record. This company could be a legal entity, in another state. This information is on line. The state you reside in has a website of which you can find out if the company that you are filing the lawsuit against is a corporation. You will then find the agent for service. I suggest that you get legal advice.
