Why do so many liberals believe that employees are entitled to things from business? |
I answered a question regarding taxation. The liberals who answered the same question did not address the question of taxation, but rather went on tirades about how unfair it that some people work for minimum wage, don't have pensions, insurance, etc. Meanwhile the greedy rich have it easy and did nothing to deserve their status in life. Now most of us know that this is not really the case and that when it is that the answer is to change positions to attempt to achieve the benefits, compensation and level of success which you desire in life. Of course this does require effort on your part in terms of gaining education, job skills and experience, but we all know that many liberals do not support the values of hard work as a means to success. So exactly what makes a liberal think that a company should be forced to provide any of these things to their employees and "because it is the right thing to do", or "because they make too much money in profit", are not valid answers. fdm215: My position is neither faulty, nor based on a single answer. It is based on extensive exposure to liberal positions, both in written statements and interchanges with actual people. You can see these sentiments expressed numerous times on a daily basis. I also do not support bailouts or tax breaks for corporate entities. What I support is lower taxes to spur growth in investment and business creation. If you want proof in concept ask a group of liberals this question. As a small business owner, I have to watch these expenses very close. Your assumption is faulty and unsupported. You seem to be basing it on a few answers to a single question on this board. Not exactly conclusive about liberals or anybody else, I'd say. ABC News 20/20 did a show this last fall on "Who Gives The Most." It was quite revealing and frankly, I was more than a little surprised that a liberal group like ABC would actually air it. Bottom line is, the liberals believe it is up to the government to take care of the "needy" while the conservatives believe it is the responsibility of the people. Same holds true in the business world. It's up to the company to provide what they themselves can and should provide for themselves. Lastly, they confuse wants with needs and rights with privilege. Liberals don't believe in training, education and work to seek advancement...they believe in taking things away from people who has earned it. They believe we are still in a world of kings and queens. |
