What is the best adobe Photoshop is good for me?

I am wanting to be able to be able to erase backgrouds and replace them with other things. I also want to be able to do the black & white color
I also want to make glitter tags and other things like that.

I am also wanting to start a business making graphics for people and businesses and also making things such as address labels, birth annoucements, birthday invites and other stationary items!

I am a little lost as to which is the best, and I want the absolute best programs. Money really isnt the issue, but I want it to be under 2,000

well photoshop CS2 would be perfect, i don't see any point in having CS3 as they are more or less identical, apart from a few slight differences that i don't think you wil need. CS2 is a great program highly recommend it

You really want two or three things here. It's fine to do some business graphics in Photoshop, but you will also want to learn Illustrator if you are serious about this.

On the other hand, for what you are looking to do, you could probably do just fine with the much less expensive Photoshop Elements 6.

For the documentation part of things, I think you could do well with Microsoft Office (or even better the free OpenOffice). You can then work with all your text and things like spreadsheets and similar items to handle the business side of things, the multiple address labels, and so on. You can even set such things up (address labels) in Illustrator (which handles text better than Photoshop does).

Hope that helps. Don't buy more than you need (you probably DON'T need full Photoshop). Use the free OpenSource software where possible (instead of Photoshop, get Gimp; there is a lot of info for using it, tutorials and a community of users, forums, and even some books), it will just save you so much money. Do be aware that all of these things take time to learn, so don't think any of them are going to be instant success makers for you.
