Are there legal ramifications for this?

I recently had a company try to rip me off and use deceptive business practices on me. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB and will file one with the Attorney General. However, this business has a record of conducting this type of business and I feel this may have been done already.

Here is my idea. On top of doing these things, I want to get a list of all the local newspapers, TV stations, and radio stations in the area this company is located. After doing this, I will find their e-mail addresses and send out a mass e-mail with an explanation of my experience along with numerous links to forums and complaint boards that are filled with complaint after complaint of this company and let all of those places start crawling all over them. Is there anything illegal with this?

I want this business shut down, because they have ripped off countless individuals with their sleezy practices, so if anyone has any additional/better ideas, please let me know.

There are no legal ramifications here AS LONG AS YOU CAN PROVE WHAT YOU SAY. If you cannot, then it comes under libel and/or slander issues.

The problem that you will have is getting the media to care enough to do anything about it. ESPECIALLY if the company advertises in any of those media outlets.

No legal ramifications at all. If the newspapers decide to publish your letter, it will be on the opinion page. But, you have to ge them to publish it. Most that I've seen do require you to include your name and at least city you live in.

I don't think that it is illegal, as long as it's true. There is a tort action called "interference of business", but I don't think it would apply if the information you are providing is accurate.
