Is there any LAW requiring certain institutions and/or business dealing w/ public to...?

include in their correspondence all means of COMMUNICATION, not only a 1 800 NUMBER?

I'm specifically referring to people being threatened by collection agencies for example. Or in many other cases in which IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS or other are required for the benefit of the client/customer, etc.

It seems to me these companies, businesses, institutions, etc., should be required to supply ALL MEANS of communication in order not to leave the person out in the cold...Not everyone is required to have a phone. Most people have a home or po box address. Etc.

I believe an email account should also be included. Otherwise those without phone service are at a disavantage.

I am not aware of a law specifically requiring an address for all correspondence. However, as it is a general requirement for disputing a claim of debt to put such in writing, the collections company would have to provide you with an address to send dispute claims to upon your request.

I agree with you in principle, though. You would think that a collections company would want to have all forms of communication available, wouldn't you?

No laws, you can write to them and that's the best way to do it. It only costs 41 cents.
