How will the IRS get in touch with my former employer if it's no longer in business, has no phone # or address |
The business I used to work for went out of business, The location is now owned by a different company and there is no number for them to be reached at. ADP sent my W-2 forms to that address anyway and the store there now says that they have not received anything for my old company. So when I call the IRS on the 15th, how do they expect to get in touch with my old employer if there is no address or phone number that they can be contacted at? If the IRS mail isn't forwarded to the old owners, then you will have to either file using a form 4852 and copies of your paycheck stubs or wait until Mail when the IRS gets their copy and can send you one. (Note, the IRS version of the W-2 doesn't have all of the state information.) If ADP has the forms, maybe you can get it from them. |
