My employer changed my address on the W-2, but my paycheck still has the correct address on it.? |
Recently my husband and I divorced. For some reason the H/R person has changed my address to match his new one. I never requested a change- She filled out someting for his insurance and made an assumption. I did not want to make an issue of this, it's my business. HR here is very much the gossip channel. I'm trying to file my tax return and the address doesn't match. What is the easiest way to get this corrected without going through the gossip mill? I'm in the process of leaving here and I was told to make sure that I have all of my information correct- cuase they will charge me to change/update addresses later. You don't need to correct your w-2/paycheck address if you already have your forms for 2007. Just make sure that when you leave the company that you provide your correct address for NEXT years forms. Don't worry about it. The address on your return is what counts. |
