In which country or countries would it be an insult to address someone in Spanish?

I am taking a business class and this is a question on one of my assignments. There are 10 countries that we have to look at for the answer. They are: China; India; U.S.; Indonesia; Brazil; Pakistan; Bangladesh; Russia; Nigeria; and Japan. If anyone can help me or give me a site to look at, it would be most appreciated.

You can say " Ki Pasa" or 'Gracias' in Bangladesh but know one understands Spanish.

I'd say Brazil because they speak Portuguese but are surrounded by Spanish speakers

I would say that all of those would be an insult, but i wouldn't consider it an insult though if you only knew 2 or 3 languages and not their native tongue. I would be mildly impressed if any foreigner used any attempt at my native language to communicate with me even if they were incorrect.

And in america you must be careful as it depends who you talk to. I live in south texas and i'm a hispanic so a lot of the language used in business around here is tex-mex but for official stuff its definitely english.

JAPAN

they have had a secular culture for many centuries
