Can I open a bank account in hong kong, with only HK ID? |
I was born in hk (has Hong Kong ID), moved to canada many years ago and canceled all my HK bank accounts back then. Now I go to hk quite often for business trip and wondering if I can open a bank account again in hong kong. I saw most bank required proof of HK residential address, do you know of any bank that is more lenient in open account requirement? You don't need HK ID, a passport is OK. But you must have an address in HK, can be somebodies address. You need a HK ID and explain to them about your situation. Some bank offers it. Of course. You could apply one like me a resident in China mainland. I offered the information with my passport, residential address in mainland in HSBC account. From then on, HSBC sends me financial balance by my mainland mailbox address each month and I implement my stock exercise and foreign exchange in this account at internet. Furthermore I would send HSBC email letter at their website when I was likely to have problem. Yep. Just need to go into the bank and talk to the bank branch manager |
