How do I trace an IP address to a final location and computer owner?

Hello - Someone hacked into an email account. We can track one IP to the exact location (and person), but the other keeps ending its path at an IBM hub. I need help in tracing this final route.

This is very important because the hub is within 2 miles of a lawyer involved in a divorce case and hacking this email would be a crime.

Anyone have an idea how to break through to the final route and discover the final computer ip and owner (without needing a subpoena)? It would be resolving to a business computer.

NOTE I have already used cmd tracert and a lot of the programs out there. None get us to the final destination. I need someone with really advanced skills to give me the answer on how to find out who owns the computer. This is not a basic trace question.

Are you doing this in order to collect evidence? If so, I believe that it would be a matter for law enforcement, and they'd need a court order to carry out the trace. Otherwise you might not be able to use what you get as evidence. Might want to consult with a lawyer before doing anything, other than changing your passwords.
