Are strip clubs allowed to solicite through USPS mail if the resident has never been a customer there?

I am asking this question because we recieved a flyer in the mail from a local strip club, with my dads name and his business name on the mailing address and my mother is pissed! He is denying it and my mom wants proof to see if he is lying to her or not. Could my mother also sue for this kind of soliciation? Or will they just tell her that her husband used this credit card there and its not their problem?

Is it likely that they have his Name, Business name and billing address because he "might" have used his credit card there once before?

I just would think that if they were just allowed to solicate to anyone (even someone who has NEVER been a customer there), there would be many people out there who would get offended and would find this upsetting.

ANy business can solicit by the mail. THey could have gotten his name for a mailing list from a hundred sources. We get catalogs here from places so bizarre all my wife and I can do is laugh about them.

YOur mom needs to do the same.

In the US, it is legal for any business to solicit new business through the mail, so long as the mail itself is not indecent.

In this case, it seems like a pretty bad idea, as I'm sure your mother is not the only wife in town asking her husband just why he is receiving this mail. Not really an effective method of getting new customers into the club.

As long as there is not pornographic images in the flyer, it is legal to send USPS. Playboy magazine sends offers all the time. If the flyer had both your Dads name and his business name on it, there was something submitted to them with both names on it. Hope your Dad has good denying powers.

First of all there are obviously many more marital issues than just this flyer. To demand "proof" says much.

In this day and age everybody knows that you can get on whatever mailing list even if you have never used the business.

As far as sueing it is not really possible and would cost much to do anyway. If it was possible nobody would want to speak w. your Mom anyway as she was in no way damaged.

Yes, there is no law against advertising for dancing.
And there is no law against jumping to conclusions like your misguided mother does either.
