Outlook express keeps recieving dodgy emails! (not for children)?

At work our car dealership uses outlook express to recieve our business emails, our server is bigpond (australia) and basically we keep recieving emails from unknown email addresses about penis enlargement, cheap pharmacuticals, mail order brides I'm talking nude pictures and completely inappropriate content, various ads and complete and utter spam, we have an email scanner as part of our antivirus program Norton antivirus 2007, but for some reason norton does not pick these emails up as being damaging to the computer, but along with the emails tracking cookies are deposited on my computer, resulting in more junk being sent through, I've created numerous rules to stop these messages but nothing works

Ok well, changing service providers probably wont really help. Also, Norton wont pick an email like that up because it doesn't have harm in it. The only harm it might have is if it tells you to go to a website (Never Do!)

You can buy or download a spam filter which may help, but we are always going to get those stupid emails.

Also, if you have signed up for various sites, and enter a email address, it can get sent out to people and that is how it all starts.

Hope this all helped you out,

Have a nice day,
Dave =]

Norton does not pick it up because a tracking cookie is not a virus. Ad Aware (can be gotten at download.com) has a always-on spyware system that works similarly to an antivirus, however you have to pay for the service.

As to the emails themselves, it's simply common spam. Everybody with an email address gets it, man woman and child. To block it, it might help to go to the actual email account and start flagging stuff as junkmail. I've found that Gmail does a fairly good job at blocking such mail, but you always need to make sure you go through the junkmail folder from time to time to make sure that legitimate stuff doesnt get tossed in there.
