Making Car Payments and the Place Goes Out of Business-No Forwarding Address? |
My daughter purchased a automoble in another state. She moved to another state but was sending payments to the company she purchased the auto from. Her last 2 payments have came back "address out of business-no forwarding address".What should she do now? She is close to paying the auto off.She doesn't have money for a lawyer.Would a state legal service be able to help here with this matter? She should contact DMV in the state the car was from. I presume the title is held up. They can either track down the title holder or assist in clearing the title. Payments may have to go into an escrow account for whomever is doing the final books for the business. I would go and talk to your local bank talk to a loan executive and see what they tell you would be the best thing to do. They might be able to find out if someone had bought out this company and give you information on how to get this debt paid off so your daughters car doesn't get repossessed. |
