Is it ok to put your home address on your business card?

I'm starting an online business out of my home and I want to know what address should I put on my business cards. Should I get a PO Box and purchase a 1800 number for a storefront professional appearance? Is that how most people do it?

you could use your home address, i had a friend who started a small accountancy business from home and just wrote 'suite 103' instead of apt 103 to make it sound more professional.,

you COULD get a po, but the problem with that is a lot of companies won't ship to them, and people are skeptical of them as a result of so many con artists using po's for fraudulent purposes. i used to have a po box and it was really hard to order anything in the mail- even certain bills couldn't be sent to me there. more trouble than it was worth.

I wouldn't put my home address on business cards.

It is wise to invest in a P.O. box, or some pack and ship stores offer mailboxes and will contact you if mail arrives.

800 #'s can be pricey. Use a standard number and have people call you on their dime, it will cut down on tire kickers.

If you could afford it, why not?

The probability of a client contacting you would be higher if your calling card details sound more professional. Just make sure that professionalism does not end there.

It could also help you in keeping things organized since you'd be working at home.

It all depends on your local marketing area?

What do other people do?

Did you as the Printing Company or did you try:

Staples

Office Depot

They also print business cards?

I would NOT recommend this on your card. You may consider just using an email address or US Post Office Box which is acceptable.

Since its online use your EMAIL ADDRESS.

You can create a STORE FRONT for FREE on the Internet.

The 800 number sounds like a great idea? I have one and pay only $23 for 3-months and its great. You can also get a PAGER with an 800 number and voice mail access.

GOOD LUCK! :-)

get a PO box and yes an 800 number is good. If you have the money, do it right don't be tight.

Hi there!

Since your business is online, I think it's ok to have your home address on the business card. Having said that, the onus is on you to make it look as professional as possible. If your address reads "Apartment #" ... it wouldn't sound too good. Just leave out the "apartment or unit" bit and print the # only. It will look better.

Have a catchy message conveying the benefits provided by your company or your USP. Very few people do that and it will help your business stand out.

Make the best use of the card by having your contact details and USP on the front of the card and including an ad message on the back of the card. Again, it works as a powerful advertising tool and you will be surprised how few businesses do that.

All the best for your venture!

Namz

I would not put my home address on my business card. I would invest in a UPS store mailbox or Mailbox etc, something with a physical address not a PO Box. Also, for the business number I use a service that cost 29.95 a month and I get a 800# and a local number with 2000 minutes. These numbers can ring my home and cell at the same time. Feel free to email me if you want more information on that service, njones1920@yahoo.com.

For security reasons, I would not have my home information so readily available.
