Is there a way to identify an e-mail address to a person or business? |
How can we check out the identify of "who and where a particular e-mail originates. This is for the purpose of identifying scams. Thank you. No one answer me why I am not able to connect to Yahoo chat rooms? magdika45@yahoo.com No, unfortunately there is no way to reliably check out who is really sending those emails. People can sign up for virtually any kind of email address... such as silly_dog@xxxx.xxx... which gives no idea who they really are. Businesses try to have their name in the address because it is good advertising and is easy for customers to remember. However, spammers are good at making anything look like anything else. Millions of spam mails are sent out as if they are from eBay announcing lottery winnings, etc., yet eBay itself would never do that. http://scamsbeware.com - Discussion Group |
