Trading address protection? Another company advertising online with our address.?

My tyre retail business address is advertised on one of the online retailers websites as being one of their fitting centres. They offer their customers a chance to go to their company at our address. Is this legal? They offer to pay us to fit their tyres, but we have refused. Why would we want to do the labour for a competitor?

Any answers regarding the legality of using our address with their business name on it would be gratefully recieved. Other debates not welcome. Thanks in advance :-)

If you are a store that installs the tyres you sell and they are a company (brand) that you carry and install than there may not be much you can do. If you do not carry their tyres and they are a special order item then they really have no right to claim you are under their umbrella of companies/installers.

You have two options. Call the company and speak to their marketing director or higher if possible to get it resolved between the two of you without the need for lawyers.

The seond option would be getting a lawyer involved and having them create a cease and desist order against the other company for false advertising.

Make sure they have your exact and correct address. You may add their Email addresses to your contacts too to make sure it will be delivered to your in box not in the bulk folder.
