Business in FL but have employees that work for me in GA. How do I pay? |
I have a modeling agency. I am licensed in FL and all my models are considered employees and I pay them with regular paychecks with taxes taken out, by the hour, for however long a photoshoot is for. I am hiring a few models in GA where I will come to them to shoot the pictures. I am not maintaining any offices in that state but all work will be done with them in that state. How do I go about paying them and taking GA taxes out if I am not registered in the state? I know it would not be legal to say they worked in FL because they did not. Though FL does not have an income tax. I want to do the right thing. I think I may just need to register with GA with my business address in FL. How should I go about this? I have a national payroll company I sibmit my payroll to. BTW, I am not doing 1099. I want them on my payroll. You will need to apply for a GA tax ID number. Here is the site for the application: http://www.etax.dor.ga.gov/ctr/formsreg.... Why don't you just consider them as "contract employees". This way they pay there own taxes etc. |
