Who is the CEO of Avis Rent-a-car? What is his mailing address? Name and address of public relations person?

I want to mail a letter of complaint. I need the name and business address of the President/CEO of Avis Rent-a-Car. I would like to send a copy of my letter to someone in Avis' Public Relations office. If you can think of anyone else I should address a letter to, please feel free to suggest his/her name and address.

The best way to send a complaint is not to the CEO or the PR department of the company. The chances that either will see or respond to your letter are pretty slim. It is likely that your letter will be redirected by an admin to the appropriate department, which in the case of customer-related matters, would be the customer service department.

It's better to send it directly to the right location, especially if you want a faster response. Letters getting forwarded internally from department to department, person to person, will only lengthen the time to have your complaint resolved and will likely add to your frustration.

The only time you should escalate your complaint within the company is if you have not heard a response from customer service. Give them a reasonable amount of time to respond, as I'm sure they have hundreds of other complaints they're working to resolve at the same time.

If you find you're not getting anywhere with a customer service agent, ask to speak to their supervisor. If you don't get anywhere with the supervisor, ask to speak to the director of customer service, followed by the VP of customer service and so on. And remember to get the names of anyone you do talk to and document your conversations. The last resort would be to notify the local Better Business Bureau where the company is based.

Avis part of the Cendant Corporation. Best bet - find him on line, send him a letter, and never do business with Cendant again. Avis and Budget on the rental car side, plus a pile of hotels and other travel related services.

I agree with Social Butterfly 100%. I'm a PR person and I would never respond to such a letter. I would forward it onto the customer service department. CEOs also do not respond...his/her administrative assistant will open it and forward it to the customer service department. Therefore, the CEO will never ever see it.
