Is it dangerous to give out your e-mail address?

i use my personal e-mail address for my business and i was going to put in on my business cards - is it dangerous to let a lot of people know my personal e-mail address or should i create a separate one for my business

No, it's not dangerous. It would be about the same as having your company phone number on the card. Some people find it easier to e-mail than than to phone (especially after hours) plus it saves people minutes on their cell phone. It would be easier to have a separate e-mail address for your company so you can get an idea how effective your business cards are and you also can have a more professional e-mail address for the business and keep the cutsie one for personal mail. Plus you don't have to sort through a bunch of business e-mails if you are expecting a reply to a personal e-mail if you are keeping the addresses separate.

yes, you need to make a new e-mail address for your business only.

Just to be safe I would create a new one for the business. There are alot of places that offer free email accounts (ex. hotmail, yahoo, juno, aol, etc) Also the added benefit would be that everytime you got an email on that account you would know that it was business related, and not some forwarded email from a family member.

No, your email address doesn't give out any personal information about you, though you might get some spam.

yes as long as you dont give them the password to the e-mail

It is much safer to create a different one. With the different one don't include any personal information in the email system when setting it up. This way people wont be able to access your stuff so easily.
