If George Washington came back alive today & saw the corrupt political/business structure what would he do?

Please no remarks on how he would be amazed at the modern advances, who wouldn't thats a given! The question is solely addressing our Political & Business corruption and what he would want done to correct it!!! READ THIS PART BEFORE ANSWERING!!!!!!

Two things come to mind...either he would clean house like Jesus did in the temple or sit down and weep bitterly..........

Your not asking a question so much as trying to find someone who agrees with your way of thinking. You have already drawn conclusions on corruption and a flawed structure of government. With that said I think GW would really be impressed by the Internet and all the wonderful political gurus on Y/A.

AND I think if he walked into the White House everyone would go "hollysh-t it George Washington"!!! Or they would lock him up in a mental institution for being some nut who clamed to be our first president from 230 years ago.

The man would be totally disgusted and probably shed quite a few tears.

The greatest unfixed error in the constitution is the electoral college (that gives us our lesser of two evils 2-party system). I'. sure George Washington would see the problem caused by it--I think he even realized it back in the day. He warned the politicians to not become factions, but almost immediately they chose two teams and started fighting--even reversing their constitutional interpretations to suit the current issue.

The self-service, muckraking, bickering, and so on in today's politics was present in Washington's time, so I don't think he'd be too surprised by that. I think he would be amazed at how organized, rich, and influential businesses and other PACs are on government. He may be disappointed at president's expansion of their powers in office--despite his great popularity Washington was almost too careful to not overstep his role.

All that said, I don't thing George would go back in time and change much. He opened his mouth only twice during the writing of the Constitution because he didn't want to dictate the future government, and knew that any idea of his would instantly gain support, whether it was good or not. I'd like to see some more politicians like Washington, who put the country ahead of their own egos and priorities, but he was unique--he won the respect of the nation before he took office, current leaders have to earn the nation's respect with their actions in office.

Since we now have taxation without representation, we can only hope he would over throw this corrupt government and establish a true democracy.

He'd take dubya out back behind the wood shed and let em have it. If only dubya's parents had thought of that.

The poor man would probably freak out and I mean totally. His first expression would be WTF! And that's no lie. I really do think that's what he'd say.

I believe he would be appalled but not surprised. The reason the checks and balances were put into the Constitution was to control scoundrels. They had those kind in his day too.
