Contract made with fake business name?

I had residental internet service with time warner cable. At the time I had need for 2 ip addresses without using a router. I called twc and they said no residental service was available that provided 2 ip addresses. They told me I had to get a commercial account. The rep said to make up a fake name to get the account setup. They provided me a 3 yr contract. 1 year and i got the free instalation but since I was already a residental customer no one came to my home. Now they have merged with comcast so does the contract become void? If not can i get out of my contract since the business doesnt exist? They offer multiple ip address and the same speed for 1/2 the rate to residental customers with comcast so I feel duped. Any ideas?

Even if TW got bought out by comcast, this does not make the contract with you void. The business does still exist in name, just new management, and your contract was assigned to comcast probably. You can call them up and ask them to terminate your preexisting contracts, and they will probably charge you a high termination fee. So just weigh your options - will you save money by staying with your two contracts, or will you save money by paying the termination fees and entering into a new contract with comcast? Just some things to think about.
