US people - is this a valid address please?

Hi. I run a small business and have an order from someone in the USA. However they've just given a street address and then a number (I won't quote it, but five digits) and there's no town or state given. I e-mailed the buyer but so far she hasn't replied, and I promise to get items posted within 24-48 hours. So can anybody out there help me - are there any US addresses that don't require city or state information, please?

All addresses require a state and town. Technically, though, the zip code has that information. What you can do is go online to find the state and city using the zip code. The post office has one here that will show you all cities in a zip code: http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp If she lives in a large city that has several zip codes, you're fine. If she lives in a less populated area where several towns share a zip code, you'll have to wait for her to reply back.

It should look like this:

John Doe
123 Anystreet
Anytown, NY, 12345

NY represent's the state's two letter postal abbreviation, which in this case is New York.

12345 represents the postal code, which will always be five numbers (or five then four seperated by a hyphen)

The postal code is entirely unique for the nation, so even if the city and state are not included, I would think that it would probably find it's way to the correct address, since no two cities or states will have an identical postal code.

Every address in US need a city and a state in the address.
