How can I ensure my email address does not end up in my clients 'spam folder'?

When I email some of my clients, they don't get the email as it goes in their spam folder, and therefore think I have not responded. Obviously if every client added me to their 'safe sender list' it would be ok, but most don't, and I lose out on business. Is there any sort of 'international safe senders list' I can apply to be on, so I am not recognised as spam?
It is not an '@yahoo address' but an '@mycompany address'.

I don't believe there is any list you can be on. It depends on the individuals mail settings. A friend of mine, for example, has it set to allow only specified addresses to go through while the rest are diverted to the junkmail. Some things that I sign up to or that I'm involved in specify in the beginning that I add their address to the "safe list" in my mail program so that important messages always make it through.
