I received an email from someone with my exact address-could the beta mail have caused it? and what can I do?

I temporarily changed to yahoo beta mail then went back to old mail sys. and found in the bulk mail a sender with my exact address. I have an ATT yahoo address, but still use this address as my friends are used to it. My system is also much slower since I dared try beta mail, which was impressive, but unfamiliar. I hope no one else has my I.D. as I have folders with personal business in them. Please help me if you can. Thank you

Some spam-bots sometimes use other peoples email addresses to send there spam from. There not using you account - don't worry - its more like a "cloak" of there address. I've had some emails "returned" to me as the address they sent it to was old or incorrect, its annoying, that probably whats happening, but I honestly don't know what to do about it.

& u know what ..it could be man made too ...anyone out ther knows u'r mail address ...& hav a little knowledge about using SMTP mail server ... u know using a net connected pc ..& command interface like dos ....u can send a mail from u'r address to any other's address with the sender's name is same as receivers .... ...try google or wikipedia & search documents on SMTP ...u'll understand very easily ...

but now the question is how will u understand .... open the mail with full header ...the id of the original sender will be there as well as the ip of the sender ...& now it'll be easy for u to track him/her down ....simple

It is a programming trick that spammers use to get you to open their spam mails. Don't fall for it. NEVER open mails from anyone you don't know and trust. And when you know that YOU didn't a mail to yourself, DON'T open them either.
