Is it just me or have you had problems with your mail delivery people & delivery?

Honestly, I have never complained to the post office before until I had this particular post office branch. First the mailman asked if I needed him to help me aerate. I did not know that was a service my post office provided! Then a neighbor & I became close. My neighbor found his mail with a shoe print on it stuffed in his box. I would find my checks delivered on the porch in full view when it was just as easy to put them out of view! Now we moved but we still have the same branch! The lovely children next door like to look through all the mail in the rural boxes. So we installed a locking mail box. Problem? The mail people have not been putting the mail in the locking box. Where have I been finding our mail? On the ground! Our bills! Is it that people just don't care anymore?

My suggestion is that you go to the post office and fill out a complaint form and try to clarify how you should get your mail. I've had success working with the postmaster on these matters. The postmaster will tell you what the postoffice is obligated to do with your mail and what you should expect. They are a business and if you don't get satisfaction you can go up the ladder beyond the local branch. In my case, some of my assumptions of what the p.o. was required to do were wrong so, be nice and take your complaints through the system. They will listen. That effects peoples reviews and raises and promotions.

I can empathize....there are numerous problems with the P.O. branch where I live. Complaining has resulted in missing bills and magazine subscriptions, mail crumpled and crushed into the mail box, and packages that were supposed to be delivered having to be picked up at the P.O. because the carrier said 3 attempts had been unsuccessfully made to deliver a package that required a signature (this to an apartment of someone who is retired and at home all day on each of the 3 days the package was supposedly "undeliverable". It's really a no win situation because they have an attitude since it is virtually impossible for them to be fired. Please note that I am not trashing ALL P.O. employees....my daughter-in-law has worked for the P.O. for almost 20 years and she works very hard. Does anyone out there have a real solution?
