What do I get from divorce?

Will I get anything from the husband if we divorce?
Case: we got married in Asia in Dec. 2003. We rent the house and have no kid. What he earns is 2.5 times of my earning. One of my friends told me I can get half of my hubby's assets(especially he sold the house after we are married for 1 year). I thought people get 50-50 after they are married over 10 years?? Not sure.
Or, get alimony to maintain the same level of life as now after getting divorce. I gave up everything and moved here to live with him after the marriage although my company was able to transfer me to the branch office at that time.
Can I file divorce by myself without going thru the lawyers?

depend on state. some state give 50-50 no matter what. other states give depend on who be at fault. if he be cheating, then you be having good cage to get at least 50 of what he make. if you be cheating, then you probably no get 50. if you two can't get along, then maybe 50-50.

you will have the same thing that you brought into the marriage.. nothing. divorce your hubby and go back to Asia if you must, however any judge will will not just flop a decision to divorce simply because you want to live with the financial security of a husband without a husband, simply because you do not like him anymore.

In Texas, it's each gets half of what was earned during the marriage, excluding any property that each brought into the marriage, and also family inheritances.
Since divorce is a civil matter you can file yourself without a lawyer. If you and your soon to be ex can agree on the division of assets the whole thing can be done without the lawyers. If the divorce is contested, you can still do it without a lawyer, but if your husband has one & you don't, you'll be at a definate disadvantage.

u want a divorce, or he wants one, does'nt matter. Y are u worried about what u are gonna get?? u have no kids, and i am sure divorce came into play for a reason. Don't worry about what u should get or gonna get, sign the papers for this divorce and start over on your one, knowing u got what u got because u earned it.
