I'm not sure why.... but feeling outcasted? |
Okay so I work at a bank and I'm feeling pretty outcasted every since I decided I wanted to finally move up and I feel like I am completely ready for it. I applied for a positon that I want at another branch and since then especially my asst. manager has acted as if I am the biggest pain ever, and everything I do is incorrect. I don't feel encouraged and I feel like she just wants me to stay here when I am getting unhappy because I wanna move up there are only a few here in office that are actually encouraging me to go foward and not to get stuck here. How do I go about this whole situation, it just sucks that the ones I admire most are not encourging me to grow. It's stupid too because they preach about how they want us to grow and help us get to our desired positions but it really doesn't feel that way... As the others say, it's very possible that your colleagues are jealous or vindictive of your ambition. However, it's also possible they are just reacting in a personal way to the fact that they might lose a really great employee. From their point of view, this means they have to recruit and train another person which takes time away from their other duties. If a person cannot accept the fact that you want something better for yourself, then they are not your friend. It sounds like to me that your co-worker is jealous of you and wants you to be "stuck" like she is. Maybe you should try encouraging her to pursue her own dreams and that way you could both grow together. She wants you to stay and do her work... she doesn't feel like training anyone... she might even be jealous. I think that they are just jelous that you will end up getting the job. Some people are just weird that way. Try your best to ignore it and you'll be fine. If you let it bug you your work quality will go down and you might loose your job because of that. you have to move up |
