Why is the Media dissing Ron Paul?

Congressman Ron Paul is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation鈥檚 capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the 鈥渙ne exception to the Gang of 535鈥?on Capitol Hill.

Congressman Paul鈥檚 consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional colleagues to say, 鈥淩on Paul personifies the Founding Fathers鈥?ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are.鈥?Another colleague observed, 鈥淭here are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few.鈥?br>

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul鈥檚 Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Five companies own & control the "so called" news. They include central banks (fed reserve) big business & the military industrial complex.
Ron Paul would put them out of business.
We the people must band together-get Ron Paul elected & all pitch in &
CLEAN THE GARBAGE OUT.
545 people run this country of millions. We trusted them to do right.-THEY HAVE SOLD US OUT.
LETS TELL THEM WE AREN'T GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE.

The obvious answer is, the "elite" who actualy control us want him gone. Dead, even. He is a real threat to them, even though he acts in the best interest of our country.

Because the American people on the whole would rather have security than freedom. Because in general people are frightened sheep and none too bright.

Why blame the media? They just mirror the desires of the populace.

Mr. Paul may introduce the most legislation in Congress, but I doubt much if any is passed. Face it, in this day and age he is merely an interesting anachronism.

summary of your q: he's the BEST possible candidate, for republicans AND democrats. naturally, that means he has 14 delegates. you don't expect the media to prop up someone who's perfect, do you?

Honestly, are you asking this question for an answer that you cannot deduce on your own?

One might get the impression that you're trying to say "Vote Paul in '08" in the form of a question, seeing that after asking a seven-word question, you pointed out - in several more words - his every major strong point and omitted anything particularly negative.

A candidate that's worth our vote should be able to overcome an alleged media "dissing." (In my view, bias is where you find it; if you look hard enough, you can find evidence of every candidate getting dissed in some way by the media.) And if you need to have the media on your side to win, it may not be a race worth winning.
