Is it bad for your credit to close a bank account?

I have received rude service from my bank. I sat for over an hour waiting for an employee to receive a card to setup my account for direct deposit. The employee was obviously on a personal call, and 3 people told her I was waiting. She continued on with her call.
Finally, I walked from the waiting area to her "office", and asked her if I could get the card. She very rudely responded for me to wait. I left and contacted the branch manager via phone, who didn't apologize.
I then contacted a good friend who is a teller at the bank to find out what she thought. She told me that the branch manager and the girl were best buddies.
So, I want to close my account, but I am getting ready to move and I don't know what this would do to my credit. Does it look bad to close an account?

Open another account first then close this one.

go a bit higher up the chain.
Tell them that you are going to close your account and why.

file a complaint there. Sure nothing will happen but it is bad publicity for the bank (which they hate)

Also if by chance you have the date and time that this happened, maybe they can verify the personal phone call via the phone records

Nope. It has nothing to do with your credit. As long as you are in good terms with them, go ahead and do it.

Bank account closures will not affect your credit. Will not be reflected on your credit report at all.

No, a closed bank account doesn't affect credit (history of bad checks is another story, but that affects your ability to open another bank account, not credit accounts). A CLOSED CREDIT CARD affects your credit report in a bad way (so if you have zero balances, don't close the card).
