My US-based employer has a branch office in England, what type of work permit do I need to work there?

For information and how to apply for a work permit you will need to apply to the home Office. ( the UK Gov Dept that deals with Immigration etc )

There you will find all the documents etc that you will need to produce/send to them in order for you to to have your application processed sucessfully
