How to invest a branch or open a representative office in Guangzhou, China?

My company intends to open a branch or a representative office in Guangzhou, China. Could anyone provide some outline or useful information for us? My company does the trading business and exports the goods to middle-east and Africa market. Is it a good choice to invest a complete company?

First, attested the copy of your company鈥檚 business certificate in one Chinese consulate or embassy nearby. Require the bank located where your company is registered to issue a letter of identification of the company鈥檚 credit status.
After that, rent an office in Guangzhou, fill a pile of forms and documents and submit the application to the government. You shall apply for 4 certificates in Guangzhou for setting up a representative office.
1. Registration Certificate Issued by Guangzhou Industrial and Commercial Administrative Bureau
2. Certificate of Institution Code Issued by Technology Supervision Bureau
3. Certificate of Tax Registration Issued by Local Taxation Bureau
4. Certificate of Tax Registration Issued by State Taxation Bureau

Opening a company branch or setting up a new company in Guangzhou is different from a representative office. You shall contribute registered capital into this company and apply for several certificates and licenses from 7-9 departments.
