Can I deposit an ICICI bank cheque into an ATM?

I wonder if I can deposit an ICICI bank cheque in an ICICI bank ATM.? or do I have to go to one of the branch office to deposit the cheque, because, from where I live, the nearest ICICI bank branch is quite far, but there is an ICICI Bank ATM nearby.

P.S : I do not have an ICICI bank account. I have an UTI bank account, and I want to deposit a cheque into an ICICI bank account for another person.

You can't put it in the ATM machine but there would be a cheque drop box next to the atm machine. You just need to write your account number at the back of the cheque and a contact number for them to call u incase there is any discrepency with the cheque. You won't have to go to the branch office that way.

Well, most atm do allow to deposit your checks as long as they have been endorse by you in the back as well as writting your bank account number, and fill out the deposit sleep, you should already have deposit sleeps in you check book all you need to do is fill in th amount, and date it, (remembe) to endorse it.
1, go to atm, put your atm card in, choose deposit, then, enter the amount of the deposit ( that would be what ever the check amount is, then endorese your check, as well as writting your bank account in the back.
once that is done all that is left is to follow the atm instructions, and put in the deposit slip, and check in the envelop and put inside the atm.
