Recommend to me a firewall appliance for a VPN between two locations.? |
My workplace is looking at adding a branch office, and we need to set-up a VPN between the two locations. I have nailed down how we are going to accomplish the Internet portion of the VPN, I just need to know what firewall appliance to use. I work for a non-profit organization, so costs are a big issue as well. I've worked with the Sonicwalls before, and they are a snap to setup. I've found two bad units out of five at one company...so beware of that. Their tech support for the lower level appliances is terrible; so buy the upper line and get USA tech support. When your a hammer - every problem looks like a nail =). I am a "Cisco guy" so I would look at a ISR - perhaps an 1800 with the Firewall Feature set on it. Regardless of what you use however, be sure to use IPSec as your VPN technology - not something like GRE. I would run a routing protocol across it (which implies IPSec inside a GRE) but that might be overkill ... again, I am a router person so I always prefer to route when I can. |

You didn't really think this was real did you? Why would you send anyone your personal information? There's a couple of clues to this message showing as complete crap. First, have you ... Don't listen to those other people... You won it and now all you have to do is collect it and share half of it with me since I'm the only one who believes in you! g-day! ...1. Backup the data. 2. Determine the server use (who uses it, how do they access it and what for?). 3. Recreate the server use logically. Typically this is done through DNS, creating an alias... Either way you go. Move or stay. Make sure that you are putting money away for a rainy day. The mortgage industry goes through some slow downs just like the real estate market. Where ever you end... ISA server is more secure especially when you have multiple levels of security. ...... Yet another scam. When will people ever wise up to this nonsense. If it seems too good to be true, it's a scam. ...No it's a scam I've been getting all kinds of emails saying that I won hundreds of thousands of dollars. they are just trying to get your info to use it to steel your identity ... |
