Wow, thanks for posting that. I've heard about those UK lottery scams but never actually read one. Well, well, well. Let's dissect:
1. The scamming sleazeball repeats the word "random" in the first two sentences = bad English.
2. It states that there are 12 winners, but in the next paragraph states there are 5.
3. It states it's a monthly prize, then later says it's an annual promotion.
4. It goes through a bunch of hoohaw about collecting and balloting, first millions then thousands.
5. It mixes countries with continents.
6. Yahoo has no presence whatsoever in Africa, the Middle East, or the islands comprising Oceania. Highly unlikely there'd be many Messenger subscribers in any of these places.
7. There is the cryptic reference to "a conglomerate of multinational companies..." Did they spell conglomerate wrong or was that your typo? There is no such conglomerate, there are no such companies and so-called social responsibility doesn't include handing out money to people on Messenger. I'd laugh at this point if it wasn't so sad that people fall for this crap and end up losing what little they have. Don't be one of them.
8. Love that end of year 1.3 billion; must've watched Austin Powers.
9. Then there is the scary "security" paragraph that all scammers use to try to keep their scam quiet long enough for them to cash in. Shhh, don't tell anyone that we're about to steal all your money.......
10. The topper: he gave himself a PhD (in crime and ruining other people's lives)

Yahoo does not participate in lotteries of any kind. Yahoo does not send emails asking for personal info. Designate it as spam, delete it, don't respond, if it reappears don't open it just delete it, run away, far away .......

No. If you won that much money, you'd get a phone call. The email address is probably not from yahoo.com

Last time I checked, "social responsibility" didn't include cash prizes. This is a scam. Oh yeah, and to the answerer above, a phone call doesn't make anything legit.

SCAM!!!!

Scam, scam scam.
You are not the first one to post this question. There are others who get this scam message.

Broken English and poor format. Spam.

Scam, scam scam! Run away and hide your personal information now.

S C A M

maybe it is real i hope so for you.Good Luck

please don't trust it.....it's a scam. you'll be sorry if you do. if it looks to good to be true it probably is..........

It a scam.
You haven't won anything and don't go giving away not address or phone number or money.
Just reply back and say thank you very much and i would like to forward this winning to my favourite charity.
And say i don't need the money. I live on love.

If you don't want the $400k, I'll take it.
