Any IT guys there? I need ideas on a MIS ( MANAGEMENT IFORMATION SYSTEM)?

I need to implement a management Information system that can handle a multinational enterprice which deals in stock controls, inventory, reports, data storage and retrieval. I need something which has its main control and head office, with branches in various countries.....any ideas? please advise ASAP

A lot depends on how soon you need the MIS and how personalised to the company it needs to be.

There are several generic MIS's out there that can be brought and configured to your needs, as suggested above you can search the internet for these.

If however, you need to design and configure your MIS in very specific ways then you will need to hire programmers to create a custom MIS.

Based on your initial specifications I would suggest using Java Enterprise Beans (J2EE) as the development language.

for generation of any kind of MIS u need two basic tool for code devolopment .
i.e 1.FRONTEND(which is Any GUI applcatin inteface between user and database)
2.BACKEND(basically Database ,cotains all ur information . and controller of information )

Frontend:- as per ur requirement and specifications may be of any plateform i.e java , vb and for web MIS u can use asp,.net, or php.

Backend:- As per suitable for ur frontend like MSsql server 2000,oracle or Mysql.
