Do enlistees under the Army's program 9D receive the G.I. Bill or some form thereof?

I tried to find some info on this and always come up empty handed... Within the 9D contract the individual enlists to go to bootcamp. Afterward, they are guranteed a spot in OCS. It is the standard "going to OCS" contract. I know some might think all enlisted get a shot at the GI Bill, however pertaining to this contract, those I asked were unsure. And please do not tell me to ask a recruiter ok. I have and they did not know. In addition, I have a real horror story relating to another branches recruiting office. I'm not being ignorant, just precautious That is why I ask on here, because you do not have an incentive to spin the truth for financial gains.

I enlisted as a 09W warrant officer candidate, that was a few years ago, and I got a $36,000 GI bill. I'd assume that it only has gone up since then. If you're getting any loan repayments, or something of that nature then you won't get the gi bill. I'm going to tell you to ask your recruiter again to be sure though, if he doesn't know, he may just be too lazy to find out the answer. He may also just be saying he doesn't know, if the answer is infact no, but I don't think thats the case. Don't be an a** about it, but get him to find out, it'll probably be as simple as a phone call to a liasion at meps.

The Montgomery GI Bill requires that active duty or reserve personnel contribute a total of 12 payments of $100.00 to the fund out of their paycheck. It is a voluntary contribution for your future education. It doesn't matter what program you go in on.

The GI Bill only gives a minimal living wage while attending college or trade school for a maximum of 3 years. I does not "pay for college" so to speak. It puts cash in your pocket so you can concentrate on school. The maximum benefit is a little over $10,000 payed out as a monthly check for a maximum of 36 months for your $1200 contribution to the fund. Any additional funds come from your specific service fund, such as the Army College Fund.

You have 10 years to use the benefit from time of separation from service, or you lose it.

That's all you need to know. It's simply a matter of electing if you want to participate in the program or not.

If you want real proof, look up the Montgomery GI Bill online. It details all the requirements and benefits.

One thing you will have to learn about the military, you have to know the rules on your own. Don't let anyone else tell you what they are. Use the regulations to your benefit.

Everybody gets the MGIB you just have to contribute $100.00 a month for the first 12 months of service.
