WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney won't lose his home, his office and his entertainment expense account after all. The House on Thursday rejected an attempt to eliminate the vice president's executive office budget, a move that Democrats tied to Cheney's assertion that his office didn't need to comply with national security disclosure rules required of other executive branch agencies.

Why hasn't this been a problem in past administrations? Executive privilege is nothing new. Just ask other recent office holders.

Your are trying to make this look like it is only Bush that ever used this section of law. Think again.

Why do you want to protect someone who is obviously trying to evade the law? If Cheney had nothing to hide why would he try these tactics? I can't believe people would put their political affiliation before justice. Why do you applaud dishonesty?

To the poster below me, I understand what you say is true, I don't think that makes it right. Can't we stop supporting those who invoke these privileges, and can't we change the law that allows them to do so? I am sick and tired of Politicians, Democrat or Republican, using loopholes and "special" privileges as a shield for their misdeeds. Aren't you?
