What is your experience of Learndirect? |
the facilitators that i met at the burnt oak learndirect in london were extremely unhelpful and appeared not to know the courses' content.in the end they sstarted to be openly rude to me and they committed the universal computer person's error of mumbling grabbing the mouse and doing the current problem and disappearing half way across the room before you had a chance to say anything;that is not teaching its a joke and it took me for ever too finish Word;when i complaimed she simply gave me a complaint form ;cos i lost my temper anmd said i bet you had a bloody good laugh they banned me when i tryed to endrol athe hendon branch which has the ssame supervisor as burnt oak;cos i could not remember name s and referred to staff in terms of race i received a snotty reply from an office in london asking me to be racist and to give more detailsof my complaint even htough i had outlined the complaint;there was no answer to my question as to what work staff were doing on their own computers al I registered with learn direct and two weeks later they sent me a word processing certificate. The online material is ok, the problem is that these places aren't really colleges and a lot of the staff have no adult education experience or qualifications. You should not have been dumped in front of a pc and left to get on with it. It sounds like the staff work over a number of centers so you're likely to meet similar problems in your area. I'm doing a Learndirect course but where I live it's run by a franchise rather than Learndirect themselves.I've found them to be very helpful. Good luck in the future. Learndirect don't seem to be very useful at all. Brevity is the key to a successful communication. Your probably better of going to a college.I know a few people who have had similar experiances with unhelpfull staff. One of the reasons is maybe they don't know the course themselves. They are not proper teachers after all. I had a similar experience in Newcastle upon Tyne. They were very condescending and patronising. What's the Sculpture connection? ya ..that's true even i had bad experience with learndirect .(barking)its been a year now i did basic computer course...they even send me all certificate but lot of racism,no proper information .their behaviour was like, they were the only course provider in the world...i did not like it at all ...staff was not helpful...but rude...and arrogant all the time.. |
