U.S. Senators DESERVE their Salaries?

Here is an exerpt from the official US Congress website. Take a look at these Salaries and ask yourself if any of the united states senators, HOR members, deserve this pay.REGARDLESS OF PARTY AFFILIATION! What do you think. All wages exept President went up at least 1.7% from last year. these are current, 2007.

guys, i said does their CURRENT work warrant their salaries, and do you get a 1.7% raise every year? on their scale that is at least a $3,500.00 a year.

Actually salaries of high public officials in the USA are low compared with world standards and with corporate standards.

My problem isn't with their salaries. It is with their competence. I would gladly see them paid twice as much if they would stop selling out America to special interests and govern by the Constitution.

We need more congressmen like Ron Paul, and we need to make him President. Then we would be getting our moneyi's worth.

A 1.7% raise isn't that much. I think it's better than the ridiculous salaries of the people in Hollywood and pro athletes also. Most of them would probably make more money in the private sector.

They need it to hire all of their defense lawyers, lol. What bugs me most is that they continue to recieve $ after they are out of office. The paycheck should end when the term does, let them get their own 401k's.

The salary they earn is small compared to the other crap that goes their way.

Diane Feinstein as an example was sitting on the Senate Armed Service committee while her husband's company was veigning for DOD contracts. Several of which were awarded by her actions.

Enrichment and power go hand in hand. Irregardless of party affiliation, all of them do it to one extent or another.

Oh grow up - these salaries are not alot, especially when you consider the cost of living in DC and that they have to have a house in their home district.

You probably work at Walmart in Tennesee, and WOULD consider this to be alot of money.

But, what else are you going to whine about and feel outraged about? You probably don't even vote or know who your congressman is.

No way. Then take into account the Donations and Bribes

It is positively infuriating! These losers don't deserve diddly when you analyze their records. America pays for everyone and everything around the world. Whose money is it? OURS!!!! Do we have a say where it is spent? No! Now you know why I frankly don't like to vote for 95% of these jerkoff losers. Now I am so upset that I won't be able to sleep tonight.
