Best communities for light rail commute to downtown Denver?

I am being transferred to Denver this summer...my office is right on the light rail line. Which communities offer best access to the light rail. I understand that a new branch of the light rail just opened up. We want to buy a home, but we're not made out of money. Thanks! PS: I placed a similar question under the catagory of "commuting." I wasn't sure which catagory would draw responses.

You have a lot of options now that the new line has opened up. You could look at Southeast Denver, Greenwood Village, some parts of Centennial or Littleton. Some light rail stations have parking lots and others are ones you would want to be able to walk to or have someone drop you off/pick you up.

I live in Castle Rock, about a 30 min. south of Denver, Great little town close to everything , any store you may need, Affordable housing, good schools. The end of the new light rail line is 15 min. north of here. You can catch it there to Denver. Plenty of parking. http://townofcastlerock.org

Runs right down I-25 now, google a city map, also runs down to Englewood.

I would suggest Littleton, I think. My mother-in-law used to live down there and I did notice the light rail seemed very convenient in that area.

There are several nice apartment complexes in Littleton. Littleton is very close to light rail.

I would recommend the Monte vista apartments. I have biked through the complex several times. There is a nice swimming pool, and a hot tub. The whole complex is very well landscaped.

The complex is about a mile from the train station, and a half mile from the highway. There is a bus stop a block away. Commute time into downtown Denver is about 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Overall a very nice looking facility!

There are several apartment complexes along Littleton's main street. These are near the local college, the light rail stop, and a small park.

There are also several apartment buildings along the Centennial golfcourse, but they are rather expensive.

If you are commuting into the city every day I would recommend an apartment complex in englewood, right next to the englewood train stop. (most apartments in the littleton area are near the train stations!)

Littleton is a very nice place to live. It is in the city, but not far away from nature either. A great location for a family!
