Isn't Bush's version of Monopoloy and a Get Out of Jail Free Card just a bit Puzzling?

The Bush Administration's reckless contempt for the rule of law has broken new ground.

First Dick Cheney claimed he wasn't part of the executive branch. Now President Bush wiped away a prison sentence for his crony and convicted perjurer Scooter Libby.

Remember, Clinton perjured himself over sex in the oval office, Scooter perjured himself over things that deeply affected America.

For the past six years, Republicans have showed us no argument is too ridiculous and no action too reckless to avoid accountability. Despite Libby's conviction by a jury of his peers for lying to the FBI and obstructing justice, Dick Cheney called Scooter Libby "one of the most capable and talented individuals" he has ever known.

President Bush went even farther 鈥揵y giving his friend Scooter Libby a 'get out of jail free card' for his crimes.

Congress is holding hearings this week to ask tough questions about the President's role and hold them accountable.

It's time to hold Bush-co accountable.

The smart people would love to hold him accountable, but he's the president. He thinks he's above the law.

He is allowed to commute/pardon people, but the ethical reasoning for Bush supporters are to be questioned heavily.

Hey Dummy, have you no knowledge of how many pardons Bill Clinton gave out in his last hours in office? How about 16 convicted FALN terrorists (Puerto Ricans), Mark Rich & even his doper brother Roger Clinton!! By the way, Cheney did not say he was not part of the executive branch but that is also part of the legislative branch since he is the president of the senate & has the responsibility of casting a tie-breaking vote if a tie vote in the senate occurs. The pardoning privilege of the President of the US is absolute.

Actually, if you were interested in facts or truth, you would have noticed that people were lying to you when they told you that Cheney said he wasn't part of the executive branch. What Cheney said was that the Office of the VP is not an entity within the executive branch THAT is subject to the regulations on security protocols for retention of classified documents, because the Office of the VP doesn't own or retain classified documents. Repeating this stupid leftist lie doesn't make you eligible for MENSA, Einstein.

As for commuting the prison sentence for Libby, what's the problem? By all facts, evidence and testimony, Libby was NOT the source of the leak about Plame, Armitage was. So how was Libby's perjury worse than Clinton's? Got any logic or rationale to support that absurd claim?

I am personally embarrassed and disappointed that the readers are so ill informed and use stupid useless platitudes to answer a serious political question. The Republicans, it seems, have no good reasons for the actions of the president so they resort to name calling and smoke screens to cover themselves. It isn't working people, the right, the left and the middle of the road are on to your corrupt administration. It does not matter who did what in the past, can you not just answer the question. Why is the president not accountable to the people who elected him. I can't answer that because I didn't vote for him, but those who did HELLO. It's time to look beyond party lines which is stupid thinking anyway and look at the candidates in the hopes that this outrage will never happen again.
