Are our three Powers (Executive, Legislative and Judicial) really separated??

The Supreme Court Justices are designated by the President and elected by Congress, leaving the People out of the loop and effectively promoting an Oligarchy. The Judicial branch of government is not elected by the People!Allowing the Supreme Court to stop the recounting in the 2000 election was a blatant breach of the Separation of Powers and highly undemocratic:all votes count and should be recounted for as long as it takes to get every vote right. How about Congress giving extraordinary powers to the President to start the Iraq war at his own discretion? It looks to me as though the Separation of Powers is eroding fast and that a handful of people (Dems and Republicans) are slowly seizing power from the people. We will soon see the rise of a Corporate Government that will cut off the power of the people to influence policy. And why is that all our politicans are wealthy people who decide one day to run for office? What about the common people? Why isn't a middle class fellow President?

Obviously boardrunner94 is an idiot. Instead of answering the question or even giving me one counter-argument, he/she/IT prefers to dismiss it as lies. I don't think anything in the question is a lie. Next time answer the question or shut up. Maybe you are just too plain dumb to understand it, or worse, you are illiterate (DOES THAT RING A BELL J.E.R.K???)

Yes. They are separate. And we live in a Democratic-Republic. This would be different from a democracy, see?

And, yes. A handful of people are getting all of the power. Blame the lazy electorate for that. And a liberal media.

For more info, look up "checks and balances."

Don't let the reactionaries get to you. Report It

Your comments are so full of lies, innuendos and half truths that I am not going to answer this question because I need to go to work. Trust me when I tell you that you need to research the information that you have to support your claims. Errrr-----on second thought, maybe you better have someone else do it for you as you obviously did not do it, or worse, you can not read.
