I tore my acl and im plaaning on going marines. i am working with 2 gunnery sergents currently one of which?

ran MEPS in my state prior to comming to the recruitment office. he told me that if i can get a note from the surgeon that did the surgery that says exactly what he told me that it needs to say i should be able to get in the marines without realy any problems. idk weather to trust him and i dont know whether i should just hide the injury and go a different branch does anyone have any advice for me????

im a college student

If there's no problem with your acl now, get the note from the doctor. Most likely it would probably be one saying that it was properly repaired etc, so that the Marines would know what they have in front of them. I'd say trust the gunney. Remember, they want recruits, so he really doesn't have any reason to tell you the wrong thing here. If still in doubt, ask them if they can put you in contact with someone who had the same problem and still got accepted so that you can hear it from another source.

Btw, don't hide the injury and try a different branch. If you go and get injured and tear your acl again, they'll find out that you lied, and you might get in trouble for not having disclosed that information about yourself.

I thought all services required a high school diploma before joining?

Definately don't hide this, cause they WILL find out! When I joined I had numerous injuries from motocross that needed doctors letters. You will find that the Marines are very accepting of this, unless you are trying to be a pilot. You will have no problems. Best of luck and Semper Fi!!!!!
