Why does Ron Paul continue to gain support, despite the mainstream media's best attempts to block him? |
In case you don't know, Ron Paul is running for President in 2008. Isn't it refreshing to know something about a candidate's views and oinions, instead of which celebrity endorses them? Real talent and popularity can not be suppressed by subterfuge of the Press. He went from .5% support in the Republican Party to 1%. When his supporters put their money where their mouths are, he will gain credibility. I have in the last month or two become a big fan of Ron Paul. I read somewhere on the internet about this guy and began to look further into him and his views. Everything you said is absolutely correct about him. This man seems to be clearly a different sort of people in Washington D.C. I now subscibe to his weekly letter to his constituents even though I am not in his district. For this and many other reasons he is gaining support. It's unfortunate that a man like this has been shunned by media. I have personally sent a letter to Lou Dobbs with CNN to give this man some airtime in his primetime show. It is the media's responisbility to be fair to all candidates in a race. Only time will tell if America will ever wake up. There are a few people left who still actually look at the issues and get past the main media WWF politics. Ron Paul is the most straightforward talking candidate for President. However, I saw him on an interview taped on myspace, and he went a little wacky on one issue which I can't recall. One thing was clear. He barely mentioned the Invasion by Mexico and what he would do about the 30 million illegal aliens lving here and what to do about the 10,000 to 15,000 breaking into out country from Mexico every day. He has not unless I've missed it described hi position on legalizing illicit drugs and marijuana, something that turns conservative voters off to Libertarians. Popularity can run faster than the Press. I don't think he is gaining support. Personally, he is too much of a libertarian for me. AKA the interests of the rich versus the rights of the rest of us. Give it up loyalist-- he's going nowhere. What do you consider "continuing to gain support?" One new voter per day? |
