Do I qualify to join the US Airforce or the Navy?

I recently applied for the USMC and even went to the MAPS in Baltimore. I had to do the ASVAB test since I am African with a permanent residence visa.I had passed everything including the medical bu the USMC Liason Officer said that I had to get a letter from the INS office to clarify that am eligible to work in the US. Am now trying to get my documents clear.If I get the documents can I change the branch and join the Airforce or the Navy since the jobs am interested in are in the two but not in the USMC?

Well, I am in the Navy, and I know that the navy will take you. But if you are not a citizen, then you will not qualify for all of the available jobs. I don't know about the Airforce, but I do know that they are more strict on enlistment. The way the Airforce seems to work is the jobs are more limited thatn the Navy. I am a AD2(AW) in the Navy (Jet Mechanic) and I tried to cross over into the Airforce. They told me I was overqualified to work on engines because they don't want enlisted knowing too much about their jobs. I have worked on F-18's, F-14's, P-3's, S-3's, EA6B's, and I am now going to work on Helecopters in August. In the Airforce you pick one and that's what you do for 20 years. The Navy seems to have a little more variety when it comes to your job. Well, I went on long enough. Not even what you were asking.

Yes, if the USMC accepted you the Navy will do the same. They have the same standards for enlistment.
