Do you know about Ron Paul?

Ron Paul facts:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

He might be the most qualified candidate, but his isolationist stance and his blaming America for terrorism are the number one turn offs for ever voting for him.

He really needs to step back and ask himself if murders are to blame for their actions or society.

He also has some out there ideas. He wants to abolish the Federal Reserve.

Technically this is not a question -- but yes, I know about Ron Paul.... and the best thing he is doing by being in the race is forceing the other candidates (both parties) to deal with the issues in a more concrete way... he will NOT sidestep his beliefs nor his convictions. When challenged he gets right back to the issues and the facts -- as opposed to slinging meaningless dirt.

You may not agree with his every position (I don't) nor does his hands off by government plan work (the FAA in private hands? I don't think so)... but you have to respect him and his stand on foreign policy -- right on!

Yeh, too bad he won't go further, but that's OK: Congress needs level-headed chaps like him. On the Democratic side, I sort of see Dennis Kucinich similarly. You?
