I am currently in the delayed entry program with the airforce but want to switch to army is that possible?

i am sworn into the air force...i told them i wanted a quick ship, but i guess to them that means not call me not answer my calls or never be in the office...the fact that i am color impaired has put me on a list of shitty jobs in the air force and the army offers a lot more jobs, so having said that, in my best interest i would like to know if there is anything i can do to switch branches after already been sworn in at meps?

Yes, at ANY stage, you can be switched over to the Army, it's switching from Army to Air Force that's the problem.
What you'd have to do is see if you can't get an "administrative release", if for some unforseen reason you can't do that, ask about going through Air Force basic and instantly do a "Blue to green"
But PLEASE don't judge the Air Force on it's recruiters, or the Army on theirs.
The Air Force recruiter is going to try to talk you out of it (it's what recruiters do). Be prepared; read AFI 36-3208 cover to cover (Just google it).

THE FOLLOWING ADVICE YOU NEED TO READ
But the most useful thing I could find for you, with a clear distinction is:
DoD Directive 1332.14
E3.A1.1.2.1.5. Inter-Service transfer of inactive reserves in accordance with DoD Directive 1205.5.
DODD 1205.5, it says if the Army approves of you joining, the Air Force has to release you
DODD 3.1 deals with terms and conditions

That combined with AFI 36-208, should be more than enough to transfer you.

No, sorry. It's a shame you didn't think all your options through before you signed the papers.

The "blue to green" program is for people who may want to "re-up". It's not for active members to switch.

The Army is seeking qualified candidates for their Blue to Green program. Opportunities exist for commissioned officers, enlisted personnel and selected cadets from the Air Force and Navy interested in continuing their service to the military in the Active Army.

Must be physically fit.
Must meet Army height and weight standards
Minimum term of service is three years
Must have approved DD Form 368

Best bet would be to contact an Army recruiter. They pull the strings needed

Well since you're already in the AF. They won't call you back they already have you. Call the Army office for some more info.

Go to an Army recruiter and they will do what they can.
Explain your problem and they will tell you if they can help you and if anyone is going to help you then it will be the Army Recruiters. If nothing else their interest in you may make the Air Force realize that you are someone who could make a good soldier and so is in high demand.

In the meantime run, do some push ups and sit ups so you can handle the PT test easily and learn patience. The unwritten slogan of the military is "Hurry up and wait." More often then not you are called out to an event well before it is scheduled to happen and you have to wait a lot.

The Air Force is have absolutely no problem exceeding their recruiting numbers, so I'm sure they will be happy to let you go into the army. Have fun.

Nope....But if you whine about being handicapped .....Or if your a different color ,or gay....then your in!

Well I am not to sure why you dont want to join the AF, you well be disappointed that you didnt if you end up not joining.

But talk to the Army Recruiter and he will tell you how to go about changing branches. I know it can be done, a few friends did it, but it was the other way from the Army to the AF.

Don't let anybody B.S. you! Go talk to any recruiter you want, they will know the best but what people don't tell you is that you can still get out of your commitment in DEP.
Hell, the military doesn't tell you that at midnight before you reenlist you are discharged. I didn't find out until right before I reenlisted. Go talk to recruiters before it is to late. Let them tell you no face to face not some sea-lawyer on Yahoo Answers.

I agree, talk to a recruiter-- they can make things happen.

You are in the DEP now. You can easily get out of the DEP, but then I think you will have to wait two years before you can join another service.

So my answer is yes but it will take longer for you to join the Army than to wait and ship for the Air Force.

YES! it is possible. Do it.
You are not in until you actually ship out. Recruiters widely misrepresent this.
You'll get a better deal from the Army and you'll have more pride; Air Farce is for Nancy-boys!
Do not believe anyone who tells you that you can be forced to return to MEPS for in-processing against your will.

I say go to an army recruiter to see what they can do.
