How should i handle a fellow co worker? |
I worked for the same company for 7 years in different branches.Recently i was transfered to a new job same company to take a postion of someone who was leaving.I was told they transfered me to fill this postion so they wouldn't have to train. You need to know that this company is slowing down and making cuts we tend to do this when the gas prices raise.Well the second day of doing my job they send in another worker to help.I question this and was told that this was a two man postion. It has been this way now for over seven months.Today i caught this co woker back stabbing me.He had left to help at another postion whithout finishing work the day before so i stayed and finished i worked late and was approched by the super. asking where my co worker was?.the next morning he was called to super's office . when he came out he made the comment that i was slow is why i was there late to others.how should i handle this? brk..... you missed the part where he came out and told fellow co workers that i was slow is why i finished late.....not that i picked up his part of our work...... What you could've said was,"My co-worker went to help in another department/employee. He didn't have a chance to finish his work so I went ahead and did it for him." That way your supervisor knows that you were picking up the slack for your co-worker and there are no negative comments on your part. Hopefully the supervisor will figure it out. because he went to help another position isn't necessarily to back stab you. what you should tell your supervisor is that he had to help someone else so you're finishing some stuff. people don't back stab, they tend to do what is in their best interest and maybe helping that other position seemed more important to them at the time. you should feel guilty for telling the supervisor the truth. but you should remember that you're all their to do a job and sometimes things get complicated. |
